What is student sponsorship?
Giving to Ugali youth by sponsoring a student is a wonderful way to help change the life of a youth in need and bring hope to their entire community. Being a sponsor will give you the chance to build a new relationship with one special student who will know you by name as you correspond and share your lives with each other. Creating a strong bond that brings two people from different continents together.
With the help of committed supporters like you, we can continue our work and keep the promise to provide education for under-privileged youth. This will give one child access to tuition, stationery, food, school uniform for one year.

How does sponsorship work?
Ugali Youth sponsorship program operates on a community-based care model which keeps the student in the homes of their caregivers where they learn good family values and develop everyday necessary skills.This model ensures that they receive the best personal care and proper education.
Through sponsorships, we improve lives. One student at a time through primary, secondary, as well as continuing education youth programs. We bring hope to an entire generation.
Our sponsorship pairs a student with an individual who wants to make a difference in that student’s life. The donor’s gift provides for the well-being of Ugali Youth. As a sponsor, you are able to communicate and interact with the student. Ugali will keep you updated on their progress and well-being.

Why is sponsorship needed?
Sponsorship is needed because Education changes lives. With 200 million people aged between 15 and 24 (the youth bracket), Africa has the youngest population in the world. The current trend indicates that this figure will double by 2045, according to the 2012 African Economic Outlook report prepared by experts from the African Development Bank. And with the average adult in Kenya making less than $2 a day while education is not free for all students – most parents cannot afford to send their children to school. Ugali works with youths in major poverty-stricken areas in Kenya. If not given the opportunity for education, boys will be forced to enter the labor force early, turn to drugs or stealing to make a living. Girls are usually forced into early marriage, bearing children by the age of 13. Education helps bring hope, breaking the vicious cycle of hopelessness.

Can I adopt a child through Ugali Youth?
We are grateful for your compassion to care for the youth in need around the world. However, Ugali Youth is not an adoption agency. Ugali has multiple programs to care for vulnerable youth, but we do not process adoptions. The best way to make a difference is through our student sponsorship project. Visit ugaliyouth.org
Does full donation go directly to my sponsored student?
A standard administrative and processing fee is deducted to ensure compliance with 501(c) (3) nonprofit regulations. We are committed to keeping costs minimal to provide more for the under-privileged youth.
